RAW artists (RAW:natural born artists), a US-based, multi-faceted independent arts organization, is slated to make its debut in Canada this summer with a launch in Montréal on August e, in Brisbane, QLD. RAW artists has since opened in five new Australian cities.
Armed with the mission of connecting artists across genres so that they can grow together, RAW currently showcases independent artists in fashion, music, visual art, film, performing art, photography, hair and makeup, in over 50 cities across the U.S. and Australia each month. RAW focuses on providing these artists with the tools and resources needed to inspire and cultivate creativity. Since its conception in 2009, RAW has showcased over 30,000 artists and has hosted over 500 local art-infused events.
RAW connects the creative community both online (www.RAWartists.org) and offline.
After four years of successfully promoting and connecting independent artists in the United States, the organization has put into motion the goal of expanding an already international network to creative communities in Canada.
“I am very much looking forward to making Canada a part of our creative network," said RAW Founder and Executive Director Heidi Luerra. “To watch our young organization grow so quickly because of the support and passion from independent artists everywhere is inspiring and a true testament to the power of art. We can’t wait to launch in Montréal and Vancouver."
